About the Woody Point Art Trail

The Woody Point Art Trail is a new initiative in Woody Point, Newfoundland and Labrador, to bring public art to the beautiful, bustling, and historic downtown area of Woody Point.

Currently we’re working on the Shutters of Woody Point project, with plans for more in the future.

About Tom Cochrane

Tom Cochrane is a director, videographer, and photographer based in Newfoundland and Labrador. He is the creator and curator of Shutters of Woody Point.

Tom loves this place. Whether exploring the province by foot, bike, or boat, he has found joy and excitement in capturing rugged coastlines, wild environments, and warm community spirit.

He has been recognized across Canada as a digital storyteller, having received numerous industry awards and accolades. His photos have featured in national and international publications, and his film and TV projects have broadcast in Canada and abroad. He has worked with arts organizations including CB Nuit, MusicNL, Writers at Woody Point, and Unscripted Festival. He was the curator of Cottage Collaborative Art Festival.

Tom is the deputy mayor of Woody Point, his home and favourite place in the world.

Tom is happiest on a cliff at sunset. Or on a boat near whales, or an iceberg. Hard to choose.
